This week we’re wrapping up our units. History is focusing on the American Revolution, including battles at places such as Bunker Hill, Saratoga, and Lexington Concord. The students are using informational cards to write paraphrased summaries of such events. In science, we’re working with K’nex to build fixed and moveable pulley systems to measure our force, weight, and length of rope it takes to function. We’re learning about mechanical advantage, as well. In Writing, we’re concluding our unit on Memoir by presenting our work to the class. We have copies to bring home, as well. This has been a useful week to practice working when it’s “already so close to summer!”
