As we come closer to the end of the school year, excitement and anticipation begins to take over. However, there is still work to be done in the classroom. We presented two new culture units this week.
Our new continent study in Geography is Asia. Using the Montessori Puzzle maps, students can locate and draw different regions of Asia. There are also activities on the animals of Asia, learning to count in Japanese, clothing, flags and country research.
On our History shelf, we are exploring rocks and minerals. The students will learn about the three types of rocks: igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. They are really enjoying this exploration as they use magnifying glasses to discover the different minerals contained in the rocks and how they were formed. Learning about rocks is fun!
At the end of the week, we had special activities planned for the students. On Thursday afternoon, they were able to watch a movie and enjoy popcorn and on Friday, they got to make their own fruit pizza. We would like to thank the parents that donated the supplies to make this happen.
Have a great weekend!
