Even though we are nearing the end of the school year, it’s important that our students continue to practice their math facts. For the past few weeks, students have been partnering up and playing the game “war.” This game is played with a deck of cards (minus the face cards). Each person turns one card over, and the first person to announce the sum takes both cards. Another way to practice facts is by playing math fact games. Games provide real, relevant, connected, and fun ways to use math facts repeated.
In Botany, we are learning about flowers. Many of the spring flowers, especially tulips, are perfect specimens to dissect and view the different parts. Seeds and annual flowers will be planted in our garden beds soon. At MSBG, we will be planting the week of May 20.
