Early childhood smelled amazing this week as the classrooms began a culminating food prep: making cinnamon bread! This practical life activity entails measuring, scooping, pouring, whisking, kneading, and stirring. After each child participates in preparing his or her own personal loaf, the bread is left to rise and finally baked to perfection. East students enjoyed this work this week and West, next week.
Other lessons in the East class this week included creating a zen garden, the peaceful rain stick, and chair scrubbing. In art, students created puzzle piece collages. Our new science unit was rocks and minerals. The West class explored shaving cream on a table, grinding coffee beans, and spinning tops. Land forms were introduced in geography and in art, students painted a rock.
**Thank you for attending our Music Program! The children were so excited to share what they’ve learned with you.
