This week was exciting! We planned special events for the week-long observance and celebration of Montessori Education Week. Our students enjoyed everything from wearing our favorite color to pajama day! Thank you for being a part of our school community!
In word study, our older students received a lesson on using the dictionary. These students are becoming familiar with words such as entry words, guide words, definitions, parts of speech, pronunciation, illustration, word meaning, and word forms. Students will then use this information to research words in the dictionary. Our younger students are practicing comprehension and writing mechanics.
We introduced the last topic in geometry for the school year, Parts of a Circle. Some parts included the circumference, the arc, the radius, the diameter, the chord, and the center. For the remainder of the year, students will be reviewing the geometric concepts previously introduced and learned.
