This week we started our Science unit on Simple Machines. Yesterday the students learned the concepts of force, work, distance, and lift by experimenting with various household objects–including a wall! We lifted books, pushed chairs, and did other work with simple machine knowledge. We’re also working on integers, cubing binomials, forming decimals, and squaring. Students are also doing verb phrases such as gerunds, participles, infinitives, and linking verbs. Our History unit has us continuing our simulation of American Colonization History. Today we traded with other “colony” groups and heard the fate of our animal stock, food, and muskets. We’re excited for Spring to begin, too!
