Our zoology shelf has introduced the unit on mammals. The children begin this unit with the Montessori nomenclature cards that allow them to see a picture, label and story that explains the highlighted part of this specific mammal.Our recent geometry packet explored polygons. We are able to use the Montessori chains to help form these multi-sided figures in addition to the Montessori nomenclature cards.The new math unit is fractions. Younger students revisit the fraction insets that are first introduced in Early Childhood. They explore with discovering that fractions begin as a whole that is divided into equal parts represented by a numerical symbol. They are introduced to the language that corresponds with this symbol as well as creating their own fraction booklet.
