This week began with a visit from the Wood County Hospital, providing their Veggie Basics presentation. Early Childhood students had the opportunity to learn smart food choices and help make a healthy strawberry-spinach smoothie! It was a wonderful treat! Students were also able to enjoy another practical life food preparation work this week, Spreading Jam on a Cracker. This lesson emphasizes the skill of holding and using a spreader, concentrating on spreading jam, and eating the finished work! Locks and Keys were also introduced to practical life this week, a fine-motor activity requiring much concentration and hand-eye coordination. We integrated several seasonal works in art, including cutting a positive/negative shamrock and sponge painting a shamrock. The sensorial geo-solid bases were added to the shelf, providing a two-dimensional visual of how our shapes rest.
