Early Childhood enjoyed the winter wonderland outside a few days this week! Both classrooms used their senses to describe, feel, smell, and taste a variety of breads. New math units were introduced on telling time (West) and money (East). Students will explore time on the hour and half-hour using an analog and digital clock. The value of money and names of money are also identified through the unit. In Practical Life, the west students learned about hair care and grooming while the East students discovered twisting nuts and bolts. In preparation for the Chinese New Year next week, we have begun creating our Dragon masks and tails. We plan on parading around our classroom community to celebrate this tradition!
The East classroom also added their damper to the bells to stop the sound, created a fun snow painting scene in art, and used a baster in Practical Life.
The West classroom added more bells to their bell table, the small hexagon box in Sensorial, the aerobic step to the movement shelf, and started creative booklets in writing!
Please remember to bring all snow attire clothing to school including snow boots, snow pants, and waterproof gloves!
