We started this week off discussing Martin Luther King Jr. and how he was a strong leader and peacemaker. We read books, colored MLK pictures, and the Kindergartners had a special writing activity to write about their own dream for the world.
The EC classrooms also introduced new math units on time (East) and Money (West). New sensorial units on thermic and pressure cylinders were also shown. Children used their sense of touch to distinguish hot/cold and different amounts of force/pressure. Our creative writing curriculum has begun as creative writing booklets were demonstrated. We encourage the children to write the sounds they hear when forming words on paper.
The West classroom also added the “mystery number” to the math shelf and switched movement works to continue exploring the exercise ball and aerobic step. Positive/Negative snowman art was available on the art shelf.
The East classroom switched their geography works to continue learning about their city, school, and state of Ohio.
As a reminder please send your child in with the appropriate outdoor gear. Hats, gloves, boots, and coats. Snow pants are used to also keep warm as we go outside in 15 degrees or above. Thank you!
