We explored the next geography unit on my school this week. Along with having a home community, we discussed how we also have our school community. Children were able to identify and match places in our school and works in our classrooms. They also expressed what they love most about our school. Another science unit was also introduced on animal tracks. Children engaged in discovering the tracks of a variety of animals. They also did animal track running and stamping for some extended art works. The damper was added to our bell table for the child to learn how to “stop” the sound. Pulling string cheese was our food preparation work this week, using our hands as our tools. For art children were introduced to the positive and negative space of paper when cutting out a shape of a snowman. We opened the drawers to our geometric cabinet for further study of two-dimensional shapes. Color box 3 was also added for another sensorial work to grade the colors by light, medium, and dark shades. The next dressing frame was added, which was the button dressing frame.
