We celebrated the first day of Spring this week with food preparation, making dirt pudding! Students began with using a mortar and pestle to crush Oreo cookies for the “dirt”. A few days later we prepared chocolate pudding then used our practical life skills of spooning, scooping, and tonging to create the treat.
The East classroom worked with using a screwdriver and polishing brass this week. Also, students were given lessons on the proper way to water a plant. In Sensorial, bell matching was introduced and the art shelf was filled with explorations with chalk, collages, and cutting work.
The West classroom created Celtic knots in art and explored finger painting. In movement, students could choose the balance beam. We also learned about the importance of dental health and the proper way to bush our teeth.
Remember there is no school on Monday, March 25.
