Celebrating Chinese New Year this week was a focus in Early Childhood! We created dragon masks and tails and had a special parade throughout the school with our West classroom and Toddler classroom friends. This work incorporates coloring, using art doppers to create the mask and tail, in addition to pin punching the mask eyes – a very diverse and involved work! Our new Science unit, Transportation, was introduced – exploring many types of transportation, how different vehicles are used and their unique variations. In practical life, we demonstrated banana slicing, using a special slicer. Students could prepare this food and then enjoy eating. Heart-shaped paper punches were added to the art shelf, a work aimed at lengthening concentration and strengthening hand muscles. Lastly, Creative Writing booklets were added to the writing shelf.
