It’s been over 100 days of the school year!  Thanks for being a part of the Journey.

This week, we are focusing our mathematical attention on reviewing divisibility rules for ease of operation, doing multi-step fraction and percentage problems, performing algebraic calculations with a focus on order of operation, and compounding interest using exponential functions and logarithms.

In Science we are dissecting [very] small motors to identify the components and their functions. Then, we are using experimentation to find ways to increase the power and utility of those motors.

In History, we are looking into Manifest Destiny, the effects of the Missouri Compromise, and the Texas Dilemma.
We started reading A Raisin in the Sun. We are learning to determine character ambition and desire through analyzing text and making inferences. We also use the story to discuss wider cultural themes.
Stay tuned for a more involved display of our Current Events work in the coming weeks.
