December 8, 2023 Middle School

Hello, Mustangs!

This week, our adolescent learners were neck deep in learning about the presidency of Thomas Jefferson and the Louisiana Purchase, all while playing online games to help them learn the Bill of Rights. Their current group project is a collage that represents the challenges and accomplishments of Thomas Jefferson. Look for these to be hung in the hallway outside the classroom!

We are also experimenting with force, how it affects objects when applied, positively or negatively, and what other forces are at play.

Those students who participated in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) are using the month of December to wrap up and fine-tune their novels, so look forward to those in the new year. The rest of us are working on essays on topics that are impacting our society right now. Very interesting stuff!

The group is also working very hard to create Current Events news reports with high production value and quality reporting. Some students are filming themselves as news reporters, some are doing news podcasts, and some are doing a combination of a podcast with visual components.

Thanks for checking in!
