December 13, 2019, EC West

We continue studying the Holidays in the month of December. This week we learned about Kwanzaa and Christmas. For Kwanzaa, children made kinara’s, weaved a mat, and learned about the colors, seven principal ideas, and history of the cultural celebration. For Christmas, the children decorated a tree and learned about the history and significance of the Nativity.

Both classrooms also discovered a special extended lesson that uses our red rods and knobless cylinders to build a Sensorial Christmas tree.
The East classroom also started their paper chain making in art and West added pennies in a bank to Practical Life and did a candy cane experiment!
On Friday, both classrooms enjoyed being the audience for the Elementary music program. As a reminder, our music program performance takes place next Friday, December 20 at 9:00!
