Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! We are so excited to “get back at it” and get to know your child. This first week of school is always packed with learning procedures, routines, new friends, teachers, etc…it’s busy.
In the classroom we are taking the time to establish classroom responsibilities, routines and how we operate as a community. This part of the year is a time to assess your child in their academic areas of math, reading, spelling and handwriting. This is how we know where to begin with their work and what lessons they require.
We have also opened up several shelves in the classroom for exploration in culture. We are currently studying Parts of a Plant for Botany. Our Zoology shelf unit is living and nonliving/vertebrates and invertebrates. Ask your child to tell you what M.R.S. F.E.R.G. stands for.
Just a reminder to remember:
- bug spray and sunscreen
- a placemat for lunch
- hard soled indoor shoes/slippers
- Check SeeSaw and/or Friday Features
