The  purpose of learning grammar in a Montessori classroom is to help students become better readers, writers and speakers. A musician learns notes, a doctor learns anatomy, readers and writers learn the basic rules of grammar. This week some students studied the function of the adverb. Some studied the progressive tense of the verb and some worked on sentence diagramming.

Graphing work started last week and will continue through the end of the year. Various projects included learning statistics (mean, median, and mode}, Using line graphs to plot temperatures of a city of choice, and histograms.

It was so good to  connect in person for Curriculum Night. The school was full of parents and the students had fun showing off their talents to their adult learners. We will have another chance to connect at the MSBG Spring Fundraiser on Saturday, May 14, from 7-10 p.m. in Olscamp Hall at BGSU. Thank you to all who donated to our Sun, Sand, and Surf gift basket!
