This week we introduced a new math unit on the concept of addition. Students learned that two smaller numbers are put together to make a larger one. We also had a new sensorial unit out on smelling. We used our olfactory senses to identify and match a variety of scents. In Practical Life, students grated cinnamon which they also enjoyed the aroma of. The next geography unit was my world: landforms! Students identified different types of landforms and what animals live around each. Next, we added the Zen garden for another peace activity incorporating Japanese culture of creating patterns around stones and sand. Our next movement activity was the sit and rock. Students enjoyed using their gross motor skills and core muscles for this fun work!
