One way our lower elementary students have been keeping in touch with each other is by writing letters. Letter writing is an essential skill.  Encouraging them to write letters from an early age will improve their communication, social and handwriting skills, and teach them what they need to know about writing and structuring letters.  A lesson was given, by mail, on the five parts of a friendly letter and how to address an envelope.  For language work, each student is writing at least two letters to their classmates.  Receiving letters in the mail is always a joy and are valuable keepsakes!  We encourage students to continue writing letters to one another or to family members for the remainder of the school year.

Have a great weekend!
