The students have been working very hard in writer’s workshop. Many students are finishing a multi-week book project. These information books contain four chapters. In the first chapter the students explore and share information about a topic of their choice. In the second chapter they present a more focused paper on the same topic. In the 3rd chapter they write a fiction story about their topic and in the 4th chapter they write an essay where they explain their opinion about the topic they chose. Some of the topics chosen were. Word Wars, Rosa Parks, Braille, Michelangelo, and John Deere.
