We began the week discussing the exciting Solar Eclipse and integrated our new Geography Unit, My Universe, into the conversation. This is the capstone of our Early Childhoood Geography curriculum and focuses primarily on the planets, solar system, moon phases and offers a glimpse of our universe as a whole. The ten geography units we studied this year aim to allow the child to formulate an understanding of “ME and My Place in This Universe”. In Math we explored the new unit of Time with second, minute and hour lessons using analogue and digital clocks, matching works and converting analogue times to digital times. Tools were added to the Practical Life shelf and allowed children to explore socket wrenches and different types of screwdrivers. The peaceful and delicate river rocks were introduced to the movement shelf which aim to increase balance, core strength and stability.
