Heraldry and Magnetic Poles
This week we got a new history lesson. We learned about Medieval Heraldry, the coat of arms. The coat of arms are the symbols knights placed on their shield. Then we got in to our groups and started our kingdom’s coat of arms.
We also got our science lesson on magnets. We learned how to tell the difference between the magnetic poles. The north pole of the magnet is attracted to the geographic north pole, which is the magnetic south pole. The south pole of the magnet is attracted to the geographic south pole, which is the magnetic north pole.
Also on Thursday, we had an author come to our school named David FitzSimmons. He talked about how he got the pictures for his books. Then he talked about how long it took to make his books. He told us about a new book he’s making about dogs and wolves.
